"Turn the Night On" Official Lyric Video
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — You watched people on reality talent shows like NBC’s The Voice and America’s Got Talent sing their hearts out trying to win and get noticed, all hoping for a big record company deal. But what about the thousands of people who don’t make the cut to get on the show? How are they getting noticed?
No matter what your opinion is on social media, it can be used for good things, like following your childhood dream of becoming a country crooner and household name.
Yikes.
Who is Kaleb Austin? He’s some kid with a guitar. And right now his song, “Sun Goes Down” has debuted on iTunes at number 1.
He has no album, no label, nothing. Just a massive following on social media. He’s all over Tik Tok and Facebook, etc. His website says he’s a very young father, he’s married, etc. He’s unknown. Until now.
In January he had a #1 single on the iTunes country chart with “Sound of the South.” But “Sun Goes Down” is at the top of the main chart. And it’s excellent.
Country superstar Clay Walker is rallying behind Kaleb Austin to try to get Garth Brooks’ attention on TikTok.
On Independence Day (July 4), the rising country star and “Sun Goes Down” singer’s wife Cheyenne shared a video clip of Austin singing a cover of Brooks’ “Thunder Rolls” with the caption “can we get Garth to notice him?” The caption prompted support from Walker, who commented and tagged Brooks in the comments on TikTok.
Upon seeing the comment, Austin freaked out as the “Sound Of The South” singer credits Brooks and Walker are some of his biggest country music influences. The influence is heard within his original music, and the TikTok star is also seen covering Brooks quite often throughout his social media.
